How to plan a podcast season before you press record
A season has a shape. Decide the shape first and every episode becomes easier to make.
Most podcasts stall because each episode is invented from scratch. Planning a season, even a short one, turns a blank page into a set of small decisions.
Start with the listener
Write one sentence about who is listening and what they should be able to do or feel after the last episode. Every guest, topic and title gets checked against that sentence.
Choose a length and a rhythm
Eight to twelve episodes is enough to find your voice without burning out. Pick a day of the week and keep it.
A podcast is a promise about what happens every week.
Plan the clips before you record
If you know which moments will become short videos and quotes, you can ask the questions that produce them.
